Im in Scotland!
Yes - i'm in bonny Scotland. A long long way from Swansea.
So I didnt get to blog before I left - so heres a quick rundown of my journey up to Wick (near John O'Groats)...
First off I must mention the BFUK send off BBQ, it was great to see both old faces and new, and see fellow collegue owen getting his legs waxed for a sponsorship of £200. Well done babe! I also finally got to meet Dimitri - a very cool camera guy who is documenting BFUK.
We eventually set off from Swansea on thursday at 4pm - it was a little hectic trying to load poor little Billy (my car) with all that Dave and Hols would possibly need for BFUK. So with Dan, Dave and of course Elsa (accompanied by little elsa), we set off for Manchester. When we arrived - Daves little Bro Andy greeted us with some great food and a couple of much needed pints in a nearby bar. Some of Andys mates came back to the flat and me and Dan got each of them to say a few words about BoardFree - cheers boys. We were all pretty tired - despite the fact we had only done a couple of hundred miles of the massive journey.
Friday morning I awoke to a video camera in my face. Dave - "Beccles its 11am - you overslept - come on!" I decided to swear a bit so he would switch the camera off. It was actually 9am and Andy had a cooked us a full breakfast to get us on our way. Bless. So today our mission is to get to Preswick - near Ayre to collect our van, and Holly - as well as meet up with Dimitri.
A few hours later and we're at a gym car park in Scotland with a big spangley van in front of us. He's beautiful (name and sex of van tbc). Dave from vwmagizine is a lege - not only does he give us this beautiful amazing beast of a van but him and his lovely wife Joyce (and Jacko the dog) put us up for the night in a lush house overlooknig the airport - watching the sun go down in such a great location, with fab food and wonderful company was a great way to end the day. Holly also joined us which was awesome. Scots are so friendly - i know where i get it from....!

6.15am. Saturday morning. I jump in the shower while the team are still sleeping. I wake Dave up he groans then realises where he is. He smiles. I go into Hols and Dan. Like Children in Bunkbeds - they winge. I feel like a Mum. 10 mins later - they are still not up - I winge more loudly and they get up.
7.15am were on our way to glasgow to get Dimitri.
8.15am - we get breakfast in a services. Everyone looks tired yet refreshed. Dimitri tries to climb into one of those kids ride things. He falls and cause a scene. We all laugh. Hol, Dave and Dan travel in the Van - Dim and I follow to get some shots of the van. The sceneray is breath taking, Dimitri gets some amazing shots and I know that soon the team will be united when we collect Si from the airport.
12.30pm. We park up and enter a sports bar in Inverness. Man U VS Chelsea - no point trying to talk to the guys. Me and Hol do the manly thing in that situation - go to Halfords.
3pm. Inverness Airport. Si has just got off the plane holding nothing more than a carrier bag and a cup of coffee. Nothing like travelling light. The team are together for the first time ever. And it feels awesome. I muck up when Dimitri is filming - i cant get the door on the van open. We all laugh lots. Life couldnt be better.
The final drive is upon us. I phone round the media trying to ensure a good turnout tomorrow. Dimitri and Simon get some great shots. Hol and Dan drive. Dave chills in the back of the van - editing footage to go on the web. Every now and then he looks up at the road - he smiles. It hits me how proud I am. Some of the roads are good - others bad. lots of hills that go on forever - and Hol and I talk for Daves Safety. Hes gonna be fine. I know it. He is amazing and inspiring and he is still smiling despite facing such a big journey. Proud is the only words to describe.
7.15pm. We are in Wick staying with a lovely couple. Good food, good wine, and a lot of giggles over the table. We just couldnt stop laughing.
The whole team are together. Its magic. Tomorrow the journey begins for Dave and we are all behind him. Dan, Si and me have to leave to go back south tomorrow. Its scary and exciting. I wish everyday was like today. I wish we could stay together. I dont want to leave, I dont want the team to be all over the country. But its the way it is.
Dave your amazing. Good Luck baby.
ps. Mum - thanks for sellling another calender and 4 wristbands!xx
